It’s SEPTEMBER, the month to make the most of the final days of warmer weather in the UK. As you probably know, Towacar HQ is in Pontypool, South Wales. What you may not know is that September in South Wales brings a feast of local food and drink festivals, perfect for a scenic road trip - or worth checking out when you come and collect your Towacar after purchase.
The region buzzes with markets, tastings, and live music. Pack up your motorhome and hitch up your Towacar - September 2025 is bursting with events!
Using a Towacar makes festival trips even easier: park your motorhome at a nearby campsite(there are lots to choose from!) then drive into towns in your smaller car. Avoid tight festival parking, explore local streets with ease, and keep your home base set up for a comfortable overnight stay.
Here are 4 festivals that are within easy driving distance from our HQ.
Abergavenny Food Festival (20–21 Sept 2025)
The closest festival to us, and always an amazing weekend! In its 26th year, the two-day Abergavenny Food Festival draws 150+ producers with cookery demos, talks, tastings, and music. It’s held across venues in the historic market town—from the Castle grounds to the market hall - bringing “top chefs, food writers, farmers and producers” together for a weekend of flavour.
Towacar advantage: Park your motorhome at a nearby campsite, there are lots! Then drive your Towacar into town. The streets of Abergavenny are much easier to navigate in a smaller car, and you can shuttle back to your motorhome whenever you like or even come and collect it the next day.
• Dates: 20–21 September 2025 • Location: Abergavenny town centre, Monmouthshire • Motorhome-friendly: Festival parking at Castle Meadows (£5/day), nearby campsites, and scenic Brecon & Wye valleys to explore with your Towacar.
St Fagans Food Festival (13–14 Sept 2025)
Just outside Cardiff, the St Fagans Food Festival is a firm favourite in the Welsh food calendar. Held on the lawns of the open-air St Fagans National History Museum, the festival fills the historic village buildings with over 80 food, drink, and craft stalls. From wood-fired pizzas and homemade ice-cream to vegan and gluten-free treats, plus cookery demos and live music.
Towacar advantage: Keep your motorhome at a nearby caravan park or campsite, then drive your Towacar into the museum grounds. Navigating the car park and local streets is easier in a smaller vehicle, and you can return to your motorhome to relax whenever you like.
• Dates: 13–14 September 2025 • Location: St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff • Motorhome-friendly: Large museum car park (£7/day) accommodates big vehicles; nearby campsites make overnight stays easy.
Great British Food Festival, Margam Park (6–7 Sept 2025)
Heading west to Neath Port Talbot, the Great British Food Festival at Margam Park offers big-fest vibes in a stunning estate. This family-friendly festival takes over Margam’s castle parkland with street food stalls, chef demos, foraging walks, a BBQ stage, and kids’ cookery.
Towacar advantage: Park your motorhome at a nearby campsite, then drive your Towacar to explore Margam Park and surrounding villages without worrying about tight parking. You can enjoy the festival during the day and retreat to your motorhome in comfort.
• Dates: 6–7 September 2025 • Location: Margam Park, Port Talbot, South Wales • Motorhome-friendly: Free festival parking for large vehicles; nearby campsites for overnight stays.
Chepstow Real Ale & Cider Festival (26–28 Sept 2025)
For beer and cider lovers, head to Chepstow on the Wye Valley border. The Chepstow Real Ale & Cider Festival runs Fri 26 – Sun 28 Sept 2025 at the Drill Hall (NP16 5HJ). Organised by CAMRA Monmouthshire, this small but friendly festival showcases dozens of local Welsh and West Country ales and ciders. Entry (£5) includes a half-pint glass.
Towacar advantage: Park your motorhome a few miles outside town at a campsite, then drive your Towacar into Chepstow for easy access to the festival, local pubs, and riverside walks. It’s perfect for hopping between events without worrying about traffic or narrow streets. You can always leave your car and collect it the next day! Do not drink and drive.
• Dates: 26–28 September 2025 • Location: Drill Hall, Chepstow NP16 5HJ • Motorhome-friendly: Plenty of Wye Valley campsites nearby (e.g., Forest-of-Dean at Lydney); easy access from Pontypool; small car makes exploring Chepstow streets hassle-free.
